The AUSIT Biennial Conference is one of the most outstanding
professional events in the Australian interpreting and translating community.
It attracts hundreds of translators and interpreters from various walks of life:
linguists, academics, agency owners and project managers, trainers and other
industry players from all over Australia, for two busy days of sharing
knowledge, networking and professional development.
Jill Blewett Memorial Lectures
AUSIT conferences are usually followed by the yearly
National Annual General Meetings, and coinciding with the yearly AGM, AUSIT
invites a distinguished guest speaker to deliver the Jill Blewett Memorial
Lecture in the AGM host city.
As well as being a
tribute to the late Jill Blewett and her contribution to the development of
translating and interpreting in Australia, this prestigious event provides
members and the wider public with an opportunity to reflect on the state of
translation and interpreting in Australia. An archive of the lectures is
available here.
