Honorary Award

This Award is conferred solely at the discretion of AUSIT branch committees in consultation with the Excellence Awards Committee, and recognises outstanding individuals, including AUSIT office bearers, for their exceptional service to the industry. Unlike the Excellence Award categories, this “popularity" Award is not subject to a judging process and is decided solely by committee vote. While there is no formal entry process, the committee welcomes suggestions for individuals deemed meritorious.

ENTRY PROCESS

Who can enter the Awards

The Awards are open to all T&I practitioners or teams of practitioners with NAATI Accreditation or equivalent qualifications, or recognition where testing is not available, language service providers and organisations/individuals that are part of or connected to the T&I industry who have their primary residence in Australia and are not office bearers of AUSIT or related to judges.

Individuals or organisations who are nominated or who enter do not have to be members of AUSIT, however, a history of constructive relations with AUSIT and the language profession in general is desirable. (AUSIT members obtain entry fee discounts). To find out about joining AUSIT: click here!

Direct entries are possible for all categories – this means that to enter, all you need to do is download the relevant Kit (see below) and prepare your submission according to the instructions.  AUSIT also encourages practitioners, organisations, users of services, etc to nominate interpreters, translators, and organisations who have done excellent work. This is referred to as a third party nomination – a nomination form can be found below which can be filled in and sent to AUSIT. The Excellence Awards Committee then advises the nominee of their nomination and encourages them to prepare an entry.

Any work by current AUSIT office bearers or work performed during a term of office cannot be entered, except in the category “Outstanding contribution to AUSIT”.
