Esplanade Hotel Fremantle - "The Finest" is the closest to the conference venue:  about 5 minutes walk across a park.  The special AUSIT conference rate is $218/person/night. Rendezvous Hotel Perth  is in Scarborough, overlooking the ocean, about 30 minutes away from Fremantle and from Perth CBD by car (taxi). Serviced apartments: If you consider getting a group together and sharing a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment or townhouse, you have plenty of choices.   Fremantle Holiday Accommodation offers a wide range of cottages, townhouses or apartments close to the conference venue. Prices are different in each property and start at  $150 for an ensuite room, or $170 for an apartment where up to 4 people can stay. Each additional person pays $30/night.
